We met Reynaldo Gamarra Gongora at the airport on our first visit to Peru. While giving us a budget priced ride to our hotel, he gave us general information about Cusco, which proved to be extremely useful. Over the next couple of days in Cusco, we discussed trip plans with him and he was able to expediently solve most of our organizational problems. His agency can help with all Peruvean hotel and transportation arrangements. He purchased train tickets for us several times, freeing us from the station hassle. He also arranged vehicles and friendly drivers when we needed them. On our most recent trip he arranged a 20 passenger tour bus and an excellent driver to take us around Cusco and the Sacred Valley for several days. We highly recommend him. He can be reached at his email address highlighttours@hotmail.com. Herbert Medina Otazu and his son Daniel run the quiet, comfortable Hostal Pascana. It is centrally located in Cusco, adjacent to the Koricancha. A short walk through safe neighbourhoods takes one to the Plaza del Armas shops, money changers, and restaurants. Their hotel serves a light breakfast as part of their room package. Both Daniel and Herbert are friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. After staying in several hotels in the Cusco area, we prefer this one for its excellent location and reasonable prices. The Hostal Pascana can be emailed and also has an internet web site.
A comfortable hotel in the Sacred Valley is the Hostal Pisaq. It is budget priced and its proximity to the magnificent Inca ruins there makes it a desireable destination at the end of a great hiking day. Located on the main square in Pisac, it is also an excellent place to enjoy the Thursday and Sunday markets. They have email at htpisaq@mail.cosapidata.com.pe. |
